Commercial description: Urea in the skin is a natural moisturising factor. Its main characteristic is its ability to retain and prevent water loss through the skin. For this reason, it is used more and more frequently in cosmetics in moisturising creams, and is also used in the treatment of skin diseases such as hyperkeratosis, dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, etc. The dosage of use for moisturising action in cosmetics is advised to be no more than 10%. In practice, taking into account that there are people with sensitive skin in different degrees, the dose is usually between 1 and 5%. On the other hand, it is advisable not to expose this substance to temperatures above 35-40ºC as it may decompose.
