Commercial description: It is used to adjust the pH in cosmetic and hygiene preparations and cleaning products. Cosmetic and hygiene products in which it is used for this purpose include skin lotions, hydro-alcoholic gels, moisturisers, shampoos, etc. It can react with lauryl sulphate to form the foaming base surfactant used in shampoos. Fatty acids neutralised with Triethanolamine 99% are excellent emulsifiers for oil-in-water emulsions such as industrial gel-type hand cleaners, aerosol shaving creams, base component in the production of certain mild bar soaps.
