At Escuder, sustainability is a core value.
That is why we have joined the Capstone Challenge, the final stage of the CHARM-EU Master’s Degree in Global Challenges for Sustainability, an innovative programme that integrates disciplines, cultures and creativity.
Their mission is clear: to find concrete solutions to sustainability challenges.
This project connects companies and organisations with international teams of students to tackle major global challenges in key areas such as water, food and health. The goal? To develop practical and applicable proposals that respond to the real needs of industries, always from a global and sustainable perspective.
How do we do this best?
In our case, the focus is on a key aspect of our activity: improving packaging and distribution processes to reduce environmental impact.
We set the students a specific challenge: to analyse our operations in detail and offer innovative solutions that contribute to making them more sustainable.
Comprehensive analysis and first steps
So far, the students have conducted a comprehensive analysis of our operations and identified key areas for improvement. Among the actions they have carried out are:
- Research into new packaging materials that are biodegradable or recyclable.
- The study of technologies applied to logistics that enable us to reduce our carbon footprint.
- The compilation of strategies used by other leading companies in sustainability.
We are excited to see how they combine different disciplines and perspectives to offer practical and applicable proposals.
Expectations for the future
Although the project is still in development and will conclude in January, the progress is promising.
We are eager to implement the final proposals and evaluate their impact.
Initiatives like this are a reminder that collaboration can bring about significant change, both for our company and for the environment in which we operate.
